You spotted Yassie!

Deep in the lush enchanted forests of the Pacific Northwest, Yassie the Sasquatch has lived for hundreds of years. She was born under the light of a rainbow moon, something that only happens every 3,000 years, and was endowed with her illustrious rainbow coat.
Since she was a wee little squatch, Yassie’s parents warned her of the human world and how their ancestor squatches were driven into hiding. Consequently, Yassie spent most of her earlier years kept within the safe confines of their cave, shrouded in fear of the unknown world beyond.
Until one night…
when she was first spotted by humans!
It was a warm summer night in 1972 and Yassie had lost track of time while doing her evening foraging. That’s when she noticed a peculiar phenomenon of rainbow lights floating in the distant sky. They seemed to mirror the reflections she often saw coming from her own rainbow-fur. Was there ANOTHER rainbow sasquatch out there?! She glided towards the lights and began to hear delightful music flowing through the air.
When she got to the edge of the forest, Yassie saw hundreds of humans dancing, smiling and reveling in the sheer joy of existence. They bore no resemblance to the blood-hungry aggressive humans her parents had warned her about. With an overwhelming desire to join their jubilation, Yassie took a step forward, emerging from the protective cover of the forest’s underbrush. The light instantly began reflecting and bouncing off her fur in a dazzling display. All of the humans stopped dancing and stood frozen staring at the vibrant spectacle of Yassie, the collective gasp of amazement echoing through the forest. The brightness of her fur was so intense that Yassie could barely see through the radiance herself.
However, in the midst of the astonished silence, a young human adorned with a flower crown approached Yassie. With a kind smile, she offered Yassie a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses. Accepting the gift with gratitude, Yassie put on the sunnies to regain her sight and joined in the human’s lively dance. The crowd erupted into cheers, and soon, everyone was dancing in harmony under the rainbow disco lights of Yassie’s mirrored mane.
Yassie had the time of her life that night.
Welcomed and celebrated by the beings she feared most.
Tales of a giant rainbow creature, more stunning than anything anyone had ever seen, spread quickly around town. While most were tickled by the vibrantly chromatic mystery, it didn’t take long for a group of ruthless poachers to plot their capture of Yassie. Rumors of her shimmering rainbow fur had driven them to become obsessed with profiting off her natural born resources because… well… capitalism.
One night a few weeks later, as Yassie moved elegantly beneath the ancient trees, she sensed the presence of the poachers lurking nearby. She wasn’t fearful though, so as the poachers approached and raised their weapons, Yassie began to dance! The reflection of the moonlight on her rainbow fur created a mesmerizing and disorienting atmosphere for these simple-minded capitalistic humans. It cast prismatic glimmers in every direction, creating a surreal and shifting aura that disguised Yassie and played tricks on their weak human senses.
Yassie, moving with deliberate grace, weaved between trees and rocks, all the while making herself appear as a mirage of colors and light. The colors of her fur seemed to blur and twist, making it impossible to discern her exact location, and caused all of the poachers to grow dizzy.
Yassie led them to the edge of a moonlit pond where her reflection in the water created an even larger kaleidoscope of shifting hues. The poachers, unable to walk any further, sat down as Yassie leaped across the water and delightfully continued onward. She disappeared into the dense foliage, leaving the cohort of poachers convinced that they had encountered a mystical apparition sent as a warning to stop their gross and super rude capitalistic poaching lifestyles. They all vowed to never harm nature for their personal gain again and their lives were forever changed. Huzzah!
Defeated and humbled, the former poachers spread their tales of the powerful rainbow guardian of the Pacific Northwest’s enchanted woods, and how she should NOT be messed with.
Yassie the Sasquatch became a symbol of hope for the many wonders of nature, and today, her sightings are believed to bring good luck to those who cross her path.
Keep an eye out for Yassie along the forest’s edge wherever music is playing, beings are dancing, and the vibes are right.
